NEW YORK'S FAMED STEEL GYM BRINGS THE HEAT TO MIAMI
NEW YORK (NOV. 21, 2011) – For the first time since launching in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood in 2006, New York's award-winning Steel Gym has today opened its second-ever location, in Miami, FL., following an acquisition that will begin to take the brand national.
The new Steel Gym took over the former site of Idol's Gym, which has occupied the space since 1999.
Steel Gym's new 6,000-square-foot Miami facility joins a quaint courtyard known as Sokya's 55th Street Station, which offers visitors an exclusive collection of retail stores, restaurants and lounges. It's located in one of Miami's most affluent neighborhoods, in close proximity to Miami Beach.
The new Steel Gym location itself offers an array of resistance equipment and cardio machines to choose from, as well as a varied assortment of free weights. And with the hospitable climate of Southern Florida, Steel Gym plans to take advantage of its outdoor area by adding boot camp workouts, yoga classes and special events for its members and guests.
Because Miami is a prime destination for northern snowbirds, Steel Gym's New York clientele will also be able to work out at the Miami location when visiting the area, as well.
"We had been looking to add more locations for quite some time, and wanted to respond to the many requests we had received asking to bring our Steel Gym approach to fitness to other cities," said Ken Hunt, Steel Gym's owner.
"Idol's Gym offered us the best opportunity to expand the Steel Gym brand into a great location. I think people like our no frills approach to working out."
Steel Gym's new Miami location is located at 5556 NE 4th Ct. The phone number is (305) 751-7591.
