It seems lately that there are so many gimmicky, tedious, overpriced and downright dangerous training programs that are designed to confuse you and make you feel like you dont know what your doing, in an effort to keep you as a client for life... other than produce actual results you can see & feel. It seems to have taken over the profession!
It's a very competitive business, and as much as I like to earn a living, I prefer to teach my clients how to train on their own and feel as if they have taken something from me that will last a lifetime...whether they choose to stay with me short term or long term. Each and every session should be a learning experience.
I have a no-nonsense, 'master the basics first' approach to health and fitness. I dont believe in quick fixes. Training can be as much mental as it is physical. I make an effort to help you build your strength and capacity in both areas. We live in a society full of instant gratification. I know... we see it, and we want it right NOW!!! Changing your lifestyle and daily patterns though, is a gradual process...one step at a time, one day at a time... not immediate... as things that occur practically overnight usually vanish at the same speed. I will help you to find the desire and motivation that lies within you to make the necessary 'permanent' changes that lead to a more healthy and fulfilling life.
A bit about my background.
I have been a drug-free/ natural competitive bodybuilder since 1999. ISSA Certified since 2003. I have both very cutting edge and also basic nutrition and training programs in my arsenal. But, they of course only work if you 'do the work'. My training approach is very basic and old school, moderate to high volume bodybuilding style training... mixed in with many of my own ideas that I've come up with in my 14 years of training experience. I love to try new things, and still always learning... yet not up on all the new 'fads'. I dont advocate things that are tedious that dont produce results, and I wouldnt expect that from my clients. I would never tell you to do something I wouldn't do. While my training is intense, fast paced, and produces real results, I'll never sacrifice my health and safety, or risk injury for anything... and wouldn't expect that of my clients.
It is my theory that you will not get bored or frustrated with anything you are getting real physical and mental benefits from. It is my personal goal to get you to that point. But, emphasize that COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Not all training protocols I have for myself or my other clients may be entirely suitable for your needs or body type.
I can gladly taylor your program to your specific goals... whether that be to build a little or a lot of muscle, tighten, firm, lose fat, increase strength/speed/endurance/performance for a specific activity... and of course to look & feel better in general!
I love the friendly, family oriented atmosphere here at Steel Gym, yet it also caters to the very serious lifter. I've always felt very comfortable & welcome here no matter what level, training style, or goals I've had. I have made myself a 2nd home here, and whether you decide to hire me as your personal trainer or not, I hope you'll do the same!
